Our Role
Foxgroove’s David DeBonis and Elana Vetter had the opportunity to attend this year’s ISTELive 24 conference in Denver, CO. Our favorite session by far was Doug Lynch’s discussion on EdTech research. We connected with Doug and his University of Southern California colleague Mark Degennaro post conference to discuss the importance of usability in EdTech. We learned about their USC Education Technology Accelerator program were asked to be the UX Advisor for this year’s 16 member cohort.
Our role is to provide user experience design education and consultation to the companies as they build out their products. To start, we gave an interactive presentation titled “The Importance of UX in Product Design.” We discussed usability as a driving force in product design, dove deep into key design principles, and outlined best practices for integrating UX into their company processes. Foxgroove will also provide one-on-one “Office Hours” consultation to each company throughout the program.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Foxgroove. UX design in EdTech is so important and very often overlooked given the limited budgets and resources of start-ups. The entrepreneurs in our Accelerator will benefit greatly from Foxgroove’s wealth of experience, deep domain knowledge, and practical hands-on advice. We are very excited to have them as a strategic partner to our program.”
